Paris Saint-Germain will actively seek to replace the production left behind due to the reported departure of Kylian Mbappé. There are several names that the Parisians could pursue; one of the names to recently surface is Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee.
Zirkzee is having a breakout season with the surprising Bologna side, who are in fourth place in Serie A. The 22-year-old has 11 goals and six assists in 29 appearances for the Italian side across all competitions.
As a result, many top European clubs are eyeing the youngster who is thriving under manager Thiago Motta. The latest European side to be in the race for the Dutch player is a Premier League team.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t GOAL), Arsenal are still interested in signing the Bologna forward, who is likely to cost €80 million.
The report also suggests that Manchester United paying a massive fee to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta last summer has now prompted Bologna to charge a similar fee for their young striker.
Zirkzee emerged from Bayern Munich’s youth system and debuted for the first team in December 2019 against Tottenham Hotspur in the final group stage match of the UEFA Champions League. He subsequently went on loan to Parma and Anderlecht before settling at Bologna.
