Why PSG Is ‘Best Option’ for Lille Starlet Over Liverpool, Real Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain could bolster their backline this summer while adding youth. One player that the Parisians reportedly want to land is LOSC Lille’s Leny Yoro, who is likely to be available.

Yoro has one year left on his contract after this season, and if Lille cannot extend him, then it will be time to sell. PSG has a youth movement going, and the Frenchman would be an ideal fit for what the club is building.

However, the teenage defender is attracting interest from other top European clubs. Canal Plus journalist Guillaume Tabbara spoke with Le10Sport and noted where Yoro should land if Lille needs to sell him.

While Real Madrid or the Premier League would be tempting, Tabbara believes that heading to PSG is the right move.

“In the event of departure, the best option is PSG,” Tabbara told the outlet. “We must not forget that he was born in the Paris region (Saint-Maurice, Val-de-Marne). Staying in France, in a championship where he has already performed, would be great for him. I fear that going directly to Real Madrid or even Liverpool would be a bit too much.

“We must not forget that it has been a huge six months, but he has had difficulties. He is not yet (Raphaël) Varane! I don’t see him settling in front of a Rüdiger, Militao, Alaba, whereas when I look at the central defenders in Paris, there is already more room.”

In a recent report, the Spanish side only views the Parisians as a true competitor for Yoro, so these next few months could see the two clubs battle to land one of France’s top young talents.
