Kylian Mbappé is reportedly on his way out of Paris Saint-Germain to join Real Madrid. However, the Spanish giants have their eyes on another Parisian player, Achraf Hakimi.
The La Liga side likely knows they have to improve the right-back position. Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vázquez are both 32 years old and not getting younger. As a result, Real Madrid likely views Hakimi as the ideal replacement.
However, Diario AS reports that Hakimi wants to honor his contract with PSG, which runs until 2026. The Parisians want to extend his contract and have informed Hakimi’s representatives of their desire to start talks for an extension.
Real Madrid and Manchester City are attentive to Hakimi’s situation, as he could be an option for the Spanish side in 2026. Nonetheless, Mundo Deportivo recently reported that Los Blancos are planning to pursue Hakimi in 2025 when he only has one year left on his contract.
While it appears the saga with Mbappé will end after this season, there could be another brewing as Hakimi is now on Real Madrid’s radar.
