‘That Could Be a Problem’ – Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé Union Has Issues, Ex-Player Says

According to reports, Kylian Mbappé will exit Paris Saint-Germain in a few months upon the expiration of his contract. The expectation is that the 25-year-old will join Real Madrid once he becomes a free agent. However, is the marriage between the two a good fit football-wise?

Former player and pundit Emmanuel Petit spoke with Spanish media outlet Diario AS and noted his issues from a football perspective, with the Frenchman potentially arriving at Real Madrid.

“If Mbappé goes to Madrid, that could be a problem,” Petit said. “Not just in terms of wages into the dressing room, but in terms of leadership as well. Bellingham has been amazing, just like Vinicius Jr., and if he goes to Madrid, he will have to play as a striker, just like what he did recently for PSG. But we all know that this is not his best position. There are so many questions and no answers.”

Cadena SER reports the most recent updates on contract negotiations between the two parties. According to the Spanish media outlet, there is a verbal agreement between Mbappé and Real Madrid, although the contract has not been officially signed yet.

Under this agreement, Mbappé will receive €14 million net annually along with a €30 million bonus, bringing the total value to €500 million throughout the five-year contract.

The footballers will have no issue with Mbappé being the top earner at Real Madrid. So perhaps Petit could be wrong with his remarks, or perhaps there will be an issue, as the former Arsenal star states.
