Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti spoke to the media on Saturday, and of course, the reporters wanted to talk about Kylian Mbappé.
Mbappé will reportedly leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer when his contract expires in June. The expectation is for the Frenchman to join Real Madrid, but nothing is official yet. Ancelotti did his best to sidestep any questions that revolved around the 25-year-old.
“I see, and I listen,” Ancelotti said on Saturday (h/t Mundo Deportivo). “I understand that it is the topic of the day for you, but for us, it is tomorrow’s game. We will have to do well; that’s what I think… People can talk; I understand it; I would like to finish this season well and win titles. There is a lot of time to think about next season.”
With the reports coming out on Thursday, manager Luis Enrique also had to address them during his press conference with the media on Friday. Nonetheless, he made it clear that until any official announcements are made, there will be no comments on his end.
Furthermore, Le Parisien reveals that the 2018 FIFA World Cup champion is presently earning €72 million gross while playing for PSG. Joining Los Blancos would mean a slight decrease to just over €30 million. Still, this would still position the current Parisian as the top earner at the Spanish club, surpassing Toni Kroos’ earnings of €24 million.
