This week, a report surfaced indicating that Bayern Munich is interested in Paris Saint-Germain’s Marquinhos. As the Parisians embark on a reset and transition towards younger talent, questions arise about the future of the Brazilian defender’s tenure with the club.
Ahead of PSG’s match against Stade Rennais on Sunday, manager Luis Enrique received a question regarding the future of the PSG captain. Nonetheless, the Spanish tactician didn’t hide his discontent with the question.
“Pff… I don’t want to talk about transfers,” Enrique told reporters. “History says that few players leave PSG. If players leave, it’s because their contract is up or the club wants to sell them; I don’t think that’s the case with Marquinhos. With the new FFP laws, clubs do have to buy and sell players.”

Furthermore, Enrique notes the importance of having Marquinhos on his backline and being a leader on the team.
“For me, Marquinhos is a top player who always performs well,” Enrique added. “He is always at his level, and he’s a very important player for us.”
The 29-year-old signed a new contract last year, tying him to the club until 2028. Still, PSG could look to close this chapter, especially considering that the Ligue 1 side will likely see Kylian Mbappé’s tenure ending in June.
As a result, the French giants could secure a sum for their captain to close Marquinho’s chapter and further begin a new era.
