Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé will reportedly leave the capital club this summer when his contract expires in June. The Frenchman is expected to join Real Madrid, and more information is trickling out.
Nonetheless, the 25-year-old’s decision wouldn’t come as a surprise to some players. The Athletic reports that Mbappé already informed several of his close friends in the PSG dressing room last summer of his intention to join Real Madrid.

As a result, players like Lucas Hernandez, Randal Kolo Muani, and Ousmane Dembélé are probably the ones who already knew what the plan was for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.
Still, it’s a positive sign that these players came to the French capital, despite Mbappé probably informing them of his intentions. Regardless, PSG has a group of French players that can be building blocks and other young talent to pair with them to replace the Frenchman when he leaves in a few months.
The next question is whether this affects their 2023-24 season. The Parisians remain alive in the Coupe de France, the UEFA Champions League, and lead Ligue 1.
