Each day, there’s new information trickling out regarding Kylian Mbappé and his decision to leave Paris Saint-Germain. On Sunday, Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna provided more details from the club’s perspective.
Last summer, Mbappé didn’t partake in the summer tour that PSG had in Asia. It appeared the Frenchman would be isolated for not triggering the option to extend his contract. Nonetheless, both sides repaired their differences.
Aouna mentions that Mbappé hinted at extending his contract back in August, and that was sufficient to bring him back into the first team. But back in January, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi had already begun to suspect that Mbappé might leave at the end of the season.
