PSG Competes with Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool to Scout Benfica-Sporting Match

Paris Saint-Germain is laying the groundwork for what their squad will look like in the post-Kylian Mbappé era. Sporting advisor Luis Campos has his team scouting for talent, and one report says that scouts from the Parisians were in Portugal.

According to information from Record (h/t Le10Sport), PSG would have sent scouts to watch the contest between Benfica and Sporting Lisbon on Thursday. The report doesn’t spill the details, but there’s been previous speculation linking PSG to one player, namely Benfica’s Antonio Silva.

In January, another report revealed that the Portuguese club wants €100 million for Silva, who is under contract until 2027, and with the number of teams that could be in the race, they might get a sum close to that number.

Other clubs like Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Leicester, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Atlético de Madrid should join PSG in sending scouts to Lisbon.

Although these clubs will be eyeing various players, there’s no doubt the clubs with deep pockets should have their eyes on the Portuguese defender should he see minutes in the contest.
