Kylian Mbappé eagerly embraced the invitation from the President of the Republic to dine at the Elysée Palace this Tuesday.
Emmanuel Macron cordially welcomed the Paris Saint-Germain striker, who participated in a conversation with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim ben Hamad Al Thani.
Moreover, some believed that this dinner at the Elysée would ultimately turn into the last chance for PSG and President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi to reverse the trend, managing to extend his player a bit like in 2022.
However, that’s not the case, as Cadena SER’s Julio Pulido described the mood inside the dinner, which felt more like a goodbye than a last-ditch effort from the Parisians to keep their star player.
“What could be better than the Elysée to formalize Mbappé’s departure from PSG? It was like the last supper during which he said goodbye to Macron, Al Khelaifi, and the Emir,” Pulido said (h/t Le10Sport).
Reports suggest that Mbappé will join Real Madrid in the upcoming summer when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires. His addition will be pivotal for the team’s success, with the possibility of Alphonso Davies also joining the squad.
