According to reports, Kylian Mbappé has inked a five-year deal to join Real Madrid starting in July. One of the stories in this transfer is the salary; the Frenchman would have to take a massive pay cut to join the Spanish giants, which he’s done.

On Monday, Marca reported the economic details, which reveal that the French forward will arrive as the highest-paid player in the squad, considering his unofficial status as the best player in the world.

However, the 25-year-old’s salary will not be too far from the highest-earning players in the squad, who are Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and David Alaba. Marca reports, citing sources close to the negotiations, put his wages on an increasing scale, ranging between €15 million and €20 million net annually plus bonuses for objectives.

Still, the Spanish media outlet notes that it cannot confirm these numbers. Furthermore, it reports that Mbappé’s camp ended up accepting that reduction in economic conditions because they were aware that only in this way could the forward sign with Real Madrid.

And the player was determined to prioritize the sporting aspect ahead of the salary section this time.
