PSG’s Luis Enrique Reacts to Kylian Mbappé Departing for Real Madrid Reports

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé will reportedly leave the capital club this summer when his contract expires in June. The Frenchman is expected to join Real Madrid, and more information is trickling out.

With the reports coming out on Thursday, manager Luis Enrique had to address them during his press conference with the media. Nonetheless, he made it clear that until any official announcements are made, there will be no comments on his end.

“Look, I’ll try to end the topic,” Enrique told reporters (h/t Paris Fans). “Until the parties involved speak out, I will say nothing. Mbappé and the club have not spoken publicly. When they speak, I will give my opinion. We continue to work to be a better team. The team is above everyone. This is our message. The club and the team are above.”

It’s anticipated that he’ll join Real Madrid, but he’ll have to take a significant pay cut to make the move. However, he’d still be one of the highest-paid players on the team.

Le Parisien reveals that the 2018 FIFA World Cup champion is presently earning €72 million gross while playing for PSG. Joining Los Blancos would mean a slight decrease to just over €30 million.

Nonetheless, this would still position the current Parisian as the top earner at the Spanish club, surpassing Toni Kroos’ earnings of €24 million.
