Kylian Mbappé Who? Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti Might Not Need PSG Star

Real Madrid defeated Girona FC 4-0 on Saturday, but rather than ask questions about the game, the Spanish media wanted to discuss Kylian Mbappé. Nonetheless, this proved to draw the wrath of manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti and his team secured a win over their La Liga title rivals. The victory puts Real Madrid five points clear of Girona on top of the table. Despite the importance of the win, the Italian manager faced a question involving Mbappé.

Nonetheless, there appeared to be frustration behind his response to the question regarding the Frenchman.

“You keep asking me about a player who plays for another team,” Ancelotti said (h/t Get French Football). “We have the best players in the world here. In order: Vini Junior first, Jude Bellingham second, Rodrygo third. Then Toni Kroos, Federico Valverde, [and] Eduardo Camavinga.”

Before the matchup with Girona, Ancelotti was asked about the 25-year-old’s ankle injury, which was odd since Mbappé doesn’t play there, nor does the knock have anything to do with Real Madrid this 2023-24 season.

Until the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner makes a decision, Ancelotti should expect these questions, even if they become annoying, since he’s likely focused on this season.
