Real Madrid has reportedly landed Kylian Mbappé, as the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has put pen to paper. After many years of attempting to land the Frenchman, it seems they finally landed the player.
MARCA reports that the 25-year-old signed a five-year contract to join the Spanish side. The information doesn’t reveal whether it’s five straight years or if options put the contract at five years.
Furthermore, the outlet reports that Mbappé has asked PSG not to present him with any new renewal offers. In the first days of January, once his contract entered its final six months, Real Madrid contacted Mbappé’s entourage to find out if the plan agreed upon in May of last year was still in force and if there were any changes.
The response was positive. Eight months ago, he informed the Parisian club through a letter that he was giving up exercising the optional third season in his contract. He had already made a firm decision: his destiny would be Real Madrid.
Mbappé will play out his final months and then depart his hometown to begin a new venture in the Spanish capital.
