Kylian Mbappé is reportedly on his way out of Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expires in June. A move to Real Madrid is expected, but it’s a decision that will see the Frenchman take a massive pay cut.
At PSG, Mbappé has an enormous salary, but should he sign with the Spanish giants this summer, that will not carry over. The 25-year-old will have to slide within their financial means. Nonetheless, he’d still be one of the highest-paid players on the team.
Le Parisien reports (h/t Le10Sport) that the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner currently earns €72 million gross at PSG. A move to Los Blancos will see him make a little over €30 million. However, this would still make the current Parisian the highest-paid player in the Spanish club, ahead of Toni Kroos’ €24 million.
Aside from the finances, many will want to know when an official announcement will come. RMC Sport’s Frédéric Hermel states that the Spanish giants don’t want to wait until the summer to make any announcements.
Hermel notes that Real Madrid wants to announce the signing in April or May. Will that happen, or is a summer announcement more in the cards?
