French Fatigue Over Kylian Mbappé Transfer Saga as Real Madrid Move Nears

Kylian Mbappé will reportedly exit Paris Saint-Germain in a few months upon the expiration of his contract. The expectation is that the 25-year-old will join Real Madrid once he becomes a free agent, and Emmanuel Petit believes France is over this transfer saga.

The former player and pundit spoke with Spanish media outlet Diario AS and noted the fatigue that people in France had talking about the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner’s future.

“We are all tired in France,” Petit told the platform. “Every single six months, it’s always the same story on the table. Yeah. Is he going? Is he going to leave? Is he going to stay? Is he going to leave? Did he have a nice breakfast this morning? Did he have a nice poo poo? We are so tired of it as well in France.

“I can understand that players are getting annoyed about this situation as well because all the attention is focused on Mbappé all the time. We are not talking about PSG. We’re always talking about Mbappé. So it could be a problem for some players to manage this situation. And that’s why I said I’m so tired of speaking about it every three weeks.”

The Spanish media outlet reports a verbal agreement between Mbappé and Real Madrid, although the contract remains unsigned. According to this arrangement, Mbappé will receive €14 million net annually plus a €30 million bonus, totaling €500 million over five years.

Additionally, there seems to be no contention among the footballers regarding Mbappé becoming the highest earner at Real Madrid. As a result, Petit’s comments may or may not hold in this scenario should the French head to the Spanish capital.
