The future of Kylian Mbappé remains uncertain, as the 25-year-old has yet to decide. Amid ongoing rumors, players will be questioned about their perspectives on the transfer saga.

Before Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-0 victory against Real Sociedad at the Parc des Princes in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 encounter, journalist Julien Laurens provided an update on the issue.

Laurens continues to stand behind his previous report that Mbappé will leave PSG after the 2023-24 season. The Frenchman will become a free agent in June when his contract with the Parisians expires.

Furthermore, Laurens notes that the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner’s next destination is Real Madrid.

“You really want to break my heart on Valentine’s Day? Is that what people want here? Because the truth is, unfortunately, not just for me but for all the fans around here, this is his last season in Paris,” Laurens stated on TNT Sports

“He has decided now to leave the club at the end of the season as a free agent. Not exactly free, but as a free agent. And the likely destination is, obviously, Real Madrid. They’ve been chasing him for all those years, for so long, and I think finally it will happen this summer.”

A decision likely won’t come until after PSG’s Champions League campaign. The current aggregate lead puts the capital club in a prime position to advance and delay any talk over Mbappé’s future. Still, there’s 90 minutes left in the matchup.

Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see if a deep run in the tournament alters any decision.
