On Monday, Marca reported that Kylian Mbappé had signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid to join them in July. However, that information might have jumped too early.
According to Relevo (h/t Le10Sport), Mbappé has not yet signed a contract with Real Madrid. The reason for the lack of agreement? Several points remain to be clarified in the negotiations.
First, there’s the issue of image rights. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner’s camp wants to keep as much of it as possible, which is also the case for Florentino Pérez. In addition, Mbappé’s participation or not in the Olympic Games will have to be decided.
Marca’s initial report stated that the 25-year-old forward requested that PSG refrain from presenting him with any fresh contract extension proposals.
Furthermore, the information from that report revealed that Los Blancos intends to present the 2022 FIFA World Cup runner-up in a ceremony that will occur on July 1.
This might be a hurdle on the road to an agreement, but it will be interesting to follow to see if the situation improves.
