La Liga president Javier Tebas revealed in a recent interview that he and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez aren’t speaking. The league executive noted that it’s been three years since they last talked, but that could change soon.
Tebas spoke with L’Equipe and noted that he’s happy to see Los Blancos potentially land Kylian Mbappé. Furthermore, the league executive used the interview to break the tension that he and Perez might have.
“He hasn’t spoken to me for three years,” Tebas said (h/t Le10Sport). “But it makes me happy that they signed Mbappé. And I am taking advantage of this interview to send him the message that I am delighted that Real are making such recruitments to have a major team.”
Tebas also stated more good news: Should the Spanish side land the Frenchman, there would be no need to sell players.
Recently, a journalist for Cadena Ser claimed that Los Blancos would need to sell €80 million. Rodrygo is a possible player who could fetch that fee and not have the minutes guaranteed as a starter.
He told the French media outlet that Real Madrid is fine financially and wouldn’t require a sale to register Mbappé, despite the sums that Los Blancos will need to pay, it won’t come as a risk to their current squad.
