Former Paris Saint-Germain defender Thilo Kehrer is back in French football. The German international has left West Ham United this January transfer window to join AS Monaco.
Kehrer joined the Ligue 1 side on loan from the Hammers until the season’s end, with the intention of securing a permanent move. Nonetheless, he stated his desire to face PSG and go against his former teammates.
“It will be good to see my former PSG teammates again, even if I know it won’t be right away,” Kehrer told reporters (h/t Foot Mercato). “I spent four years and gained a lot of memories and experience.
“It was a very positive passage, which helped me evolve, although there were inevitably some negatives. I met people who helped me a lot when I was there, and I will be very happy to see them again.”
PSG and Monaco will face each other on March 3rd and possibly meet in the Coupe de France. So, he could go up against his former club on multiple occasions. It will be interesting to see if Kehrer points out certain players’ weaknesses.
Since he arrived from Paris St-Germain in August 2022, the 27-year-old midfielder has featured in 50 games for West Ham. Despite this, he hasn’t initiated any Premier League matches this season and has only participated in one league game since September.
