As things stand, Paris Saint-Germain is leading Ligue 1 and is in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League. As the second half of the season gets underway, there are several matches supporters will be lining up to attend.
On Saturday, February 10, PSG will host Lille OSC, one of the better teams in Ligue 1. Last December, PSG and Lille battled to a 1-1 draw at the Stade Pierre Mauroy. On that night, Lille defender Leny Yoro had an impressive performance and is now rumored to be a transfer target for PSG and Real Madrid. After that fixture, PSG hosts Real Sociedad in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie in the Champions League. PSG will be favored to advance to the next round over the La Liga side, but they’ll need an impressive performance at the Parc des Princes to settle nerves for the away match.
Later in the season, PSG welcomes Olympique Lyonnais to the French capital. The match, scheduled for April 21, is interesting because Lyon is currently just barely above the relegation zone. Depending on the results leading up to this one, PSG could have the opportunity to send one of their rivals into a relegation battle. They could also solidify their place as Ligue 1 champions.
The last home match for PSG is on May 11 against Toulouse FC. The league should be wrapped up by then, but this might be the most notable match because it could be the last time Kylian Mbappé wears a PSG kit in front of his home supporters. The Frenchman’s contract expires at the end of the season, and Real Madrid are rumored to be interested in signing him. It remains to be seen if an announcement will come before this match or after, but if it’s known that this match will be his last as a member of PSG, ticket prices will skyrocket as a special farewell will be in place. Supporters can expect a video montage of Mbappé’s accomplishments and a lap of honor where Mbappé thanks the fans for their support. If Mbappé decides to sign a new contract and stay at PSG, the atmosphere for this match will be electric.
Of course, if PSG advances past Real Sociedad in the Champions League, they’ll be guaranteed at least one more high-profile home match, but for now, these are the matches PSG supporters will want to visit the Parc des Princes for.
