Could the Kylian Mbappé transfer saga be ending relatively soon? Real Madrid isn’t keen on changing their stance, and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly wants an answer soon.
The January transfer window is closing this week, but that doesn’t mark the end of the Mbappé transfer drama. The 25-year-old can ink a pre-contract between now and June when his current deal with Paris Saint-Germain expires.
SPORT reports (h/t Le10Sport) that club president Florentino Pérez is showing caution but is still closely following the evolution of the PSG star’s situation. However, he does not intend to secure the services of the captain of the French national team at any cost.
According to the Spanish outlet, Pérez will not change his stance regarding Mbappé and wants the player to accept their conditions. The Merengues do not intend to go overboard in recruiting him.
If he signs, the French international wouldn’t even have half his salary at PSG. And if he doesn’t comply with these conditions, Real Madrid won’t pursue him.
Nonetheless, another report reveals that Mbappé could earn a salary of nearly €30 million per year, making him the highest-paid player at Real Madrid, ahead of Toni Kroos and David Alaba.
