Paris Saint-Germain bolstered their backline this January transfer window with the addition of Lucas Beraldo. However, the Brazilian defender’s arrival might kickstart an overhaul of the central defense.
If PSG’s interest in Lille OSC defender Leny Yoro doesn’t materialize this summer, the capital club might consider an alternative option. Who could that be? Well, it’s SL Benfica’s Antonio Silva.
However, much like the Yoro file, there’s stiff competition to land the 20-year-old defender. MARCA reports (h/t Le10Sport) that Benfica wants €100 million for Silva, who is under contract until 2027, and with the number of teams that could be in the race, they might get a sum close to that number.
Aside from PSG, the Spanish media outlet reports that Real Madrid is also interested in Silva’s services. With David Alaba and Eder Militão seriously injured, the Merengue have reportedly ticked the Benfica defender’s name off their list.
Real Madrid is also in on Yoro, so if both teams miss out on the French defender, they could be in a heated battle for the Portuguese.
