The January transfer window is closing this week, but that doesn’t mark the end of the Kylian Mbappé transfer drama. Despite this, the 25-year-old can ink a pre-contract between now and June, when his current deal with Paris Saint-Germain expires.
Real Madrid is keen on Mbappé and willing to compromise with the forward regarding the economic side. Spanish outlet Diario AS (h/t Le10Sport) reports that Los Blancos are ready to make the Frenchman the highest-paid player on the squad.
According to the platform, Mbappé could earn a salary of nearly €30 million per year, making him the highest-paid player at Real Madrid, ahead of Toni Kroos and David Alaba.
The capital club has not yet made an offer for an extension. The leaders would like Mbappé to formalize his decision before eventually approaching him. AS’ report also reveals that the French player plans to announce his next destination in the coming days.
Spanish journalist Tomas Roncero recently mentioned that as the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 approaches for Paris Saint-Germain, with their first leg against Real Sociedad set for February 14th, the club eagerly awaits Mbappé’s decision.
