FIFA announced its winners for The Best FIFA Football Awards, and the format allows for certain players to have their votes cast. Paris Saint-Germain winger Kylian Mbappé had his ballot for the best coach in 2023 revealed.
The 25-year-old went with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola as his first-place vote. Guardiola won the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League in 2023. As a result, it makes sense why the Frenchman went with the Spaniard.
In second place, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner went with former Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti, who won the Serie A title as he beat out Italian heavyweights AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Juventus for the championship.
Finally, the PSG star went with FC Barcelona manager Xavi as his third-place vote. The Spanish boss won La Liga in 2023, beating out Real Madrid for the league title. If Mbappé ever elaborates on his ballot, it will be interesting to see the thought process of selecting these three managers.
