Paris Saint-Germain announced Lucas Beraldo’s official arrival on Monday. The 20-year-old comes over from São Paulo FC and spoke with PSG TV on many topics, one of them being Marquinhos.
Beraldo noted the influence that possibly playing with the veteran Brazilian had on his decision to join PSG. The 29-year-old has been a pillar for the national team over the past few years. As a result, it comes as no surprise that Beraldo wants to play with Marquinhos.
“I think so; I had already given interviews in Brazil to say that I dreamed of playing alongside him,” Beraldo said (h/t Paris Fans). “I imagined playing with him for the Brazilian national team, but God allowed me to play alongside him daily at Paris Saint-Germain. I think that weighed heavily in my choice.”
The defender wasn’t supposed to be the lone announcement made on Monday. Former Corinthians midfielder Gabriel Moscardo should’ve been part of the unveiling; however, the 18-year-old midfielder suffered a roadblock in beginning his European career.
Moscardo announced in a social media post on Sunday that he will undergo surgery on his left foot. Additionally, the player mentioned that he would be out of action for three months.
The teenager will undergo straightforward bone graft surgery at the Aspetar clinic in Qatar. Although the Brazilian has not finalized his contract with PSG, his arrival remains certain and is not in doubt; he will be joining the capital club.
