The Spanish media is putting cold water on a report that Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé will join Real Madrid this summer. The 25-year-old’s contract with the French giants expires in June and can leave as a free agent.
Nonetheless, minutes after the report surfaced, MARCA’s Ramón Álvarez de Mon came out with information conflicting with Foot Mercato’s reporting. According to the Spanish journalist, there is nothing definitive.
“[On Monday], I will update you early with my information about Mbappé,” de Mon wrote on X. “It has taken a few days to cross-check some information, and I must inform you that nothing is definitive yet.”
Mañana os actualizo a primera hora mi información sobre Mbappé. Ha costado unos días contrastar algunas informaciones y ya os aviso que no hay nada definitivo.

As for Foot Mercato, their information reveals that the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has reached an agreement with Real Madrid in recent days. This type of reporting shouldn’t come as a surprise since it was the same in 2022.
Outlets in France and Spain want the first scoop regarding the Frenchman’s decision. It will be interesting to see whether any media company will have that information firsthand or if Mbappé will hold his cards close to announce the decision on his terms.
