Fabrizio Romano Gives Update on AC Milan’s Rafael Leão Amid PSG Rumors

On Sunday, reports indicated that Paris Saint-Germain is eyeing AC Milan’s Rafael Leão for the upcoming summer transfer window. The capital club may seek to fill the potential gap in production should Kylian Mbappé depart.

A recent report also revealed that the player’s entourage would have informed him of this interest from PSG, which would have prompted him to reflect deeply on his future, even though he has extended his contract with AC Milan until 2028.

In his recent column for CaughtOffside, transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano wrote the latest regarding the Parisians’ potential pursuit of the 24-year-old forward.

“I’m aware there have been some links with Rafael Leao and PSG,” Romano wrote. “Luis Campos is the director who signed Leao at Lille, one of his incredible signings, so appreciating him is normal, but at PSG, summer plans will be made in the next months. It’s still early to predict what they will do. It depends on how this season will go and also on the Kylian Mbappe situation.”

Last June, Leão extended his contract with the Serie A side. Nonetheless, it’s surprising that the Portugal international would contemplate leaving less than a year after committing to AC Milan until 2028. Matteo Moretto from Relevo disclosed that the AC Milan standout has a release clause set at €175 million.

Leão has scored six goals and registered six assists in 24 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A side this season.
