The Kylian Mbappé transfer saga tests the patience of Real Madrid supporters and the Spanish media. However, one former footballer advises Los Blancos to start focusing their attention on Erling Haaland.
In recent years, a strong focus has been on securing Mbappé from the Spanish side. Despite these efforts, they have been unsuccessful. Former Real Madrid and FC Barcelona footballer Robert Prosinecki emphasizes that the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner may not be a necessary addition to Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
Prosinecki notes that Real Madrid needs a striker, and while Mbappé can fill that role occasionally, he prefers to play on the left wing.
“Now I would say that Mbappé is the No. 1 [target],” Prosinecki told Diario AS (h/t Bernabeu Digital). “He has speed, technique, goal-scoring ability, etc. He has it all. Who of the two would be better for Real Madrid? That is a different question.
“Haaland is another monster, and I think, considering the composition of Madrid’s squad with Vinicius and Rodrygo, who are similar to Mbappé in terms of abilities and position, Haaland would be a better fit because he is a goal-scoring striker. If I were the one deciding, I believe the Norwegian would be more suitable.”
Spanish journalist Edu Aguirre provided a different take, stating that the 14-time UEFA Champions League winner will have the Frenchman in their ranks.
In a recent stream on El Chiringuito de Jugones’ Twitch channel, Aguirre confidently asserted his belief that Real Madrid will likely secure the signing of Mbappé once his contract with Paris Saint-Germain concludes.
Additionally, Aguirre expressed a firm conviction, indicating a high percentage of certainty that everyone will witness the French national team captain playing in the Spanish capital.
