Kylian Mbappé’s transfer saga revolves around the 25-year-old’s economic and project preferences as he determines his future. Yet another crucial aspect of the ordeal could be the deciding factor in reaching an agreement.
Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and possibly Liverpool are keen on the Frenchman, who can already sign a pre-contract. Nonetheless, English journalist Ben Jacobs reports that Mbappé views playing at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 as a dealbreaker in his future.
Jacobs asserts that Mbappé’s close associates insist he will only join a club that allows him to participate in the home Olympics. Additionally, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner isn’t opposed to putting his decision on hold if nothing is made before the summer comes.
Mbappé and his camp are also considering the option of free agency. If an agreement is not reached, he can prioritize UEFA Euro 2024 and the 2024 Olympics in Paris before joining a club slightly later in the summer.

If the 2022 FIFA World Cup runner-up takes this route, it will be similar to what many football fans see in free agency in other leagues such as the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL.
