Arsenal Keeps Tabs on PSG Loanee Thriving in Bundesliga, Report Says

Arsenal continues to monitor Xavi Simons from Paris Saint-Germain, who is currently on loan and excelling with RB Leipzig.

The talented youngster is still on the English club’s radar. Recent reports indicate that the Gunners dispatched scouts to watch Simons and several other players playing in the Bundesliga.

HITC reports that Arsenal still welcomes the idea of bringing the Netherlands international to the Premier League, maintaining their stance on the attacking midfielder.

PSG reportedly expressed satisfaction with Simons’ impressive progress on loan. In 27 appearances this season, he has scored seven goals and nine assists for Leipzig.

Nonetheless, transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano debunked rumors that the Gunners are vying for the 20-year-old. Still, he does state that there was interest last year, but nothing new has materialized from the Premier League side.

“Arsenal were following Xavi Simons last summer but there’s absolutely nothing new now,” Romano wrote on CaughtOffside. “PSG are very happy with his loan in Leipzig, and decision time will be in the summer – nothing is being decided in January for Xavi Simons.”

It’s hard to imagine PSG allowing Simons to leave without him playing in the French capital, especially if Kylian Mbappé departs this summer.
