The latest installment of the Kylian Mbappé transfer saga will begin when the January transfer window opens on Monday. All eyes are on Real Madrid to see if they can finally land the Frenchman after past rejections.
Nonetheless, the Spanish side is approaching this time with a firm stance. Real Madrid reportedly has a deadline for how long the 25-year-old has to accept their pre-contract proposal.
Although reports from Spain put the saga in Real Madrid’s favor, former PSG player Bernard Mendy says he is confident about seeing the French international extend his adventure in Paris next season.
“Beyond being a PSG supporter, I still want to believe in this Parisian project,” Mendy said on l’Equipe de Greg (h/t Canal Supporters). “Today, everything is in place to be even stronger. It can achieve more. This year, Luis Enrique arrived with an ambitious project.
“I think the supporters are very pleased with what he can bring. There was also the icing on the cake regarding [Ethan Mbappé’s PSG debut] on his birthday. Dembélé and Kolo Muani also arrived. I believe there are also other arrivals to come.”
L’Equipe recently reported that PSG is optimistic about the prospects of Mbappé signing a contract extension with the club, even though there’s strong interest from Real Madrid.
It doesn’t appear the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner will decide his future this upcoming month. If the winger defers any decision, will Real Madrid continue waiting or finally discard this file?
