This January transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain appeared to be navigating business quickly. One of the targets the capital club had in mind was Leeds United’s Pascal Struijk.
Improving the center-back position was a priority for the Ligue 1 side. Marquinhos and Milan Skrinar have been the starters for most of this 2023-24 season; however, a squad needs depth to compete in multiple competitions and withstand injuries.
As a result, sporting advisor Luis Campos entered the market, and Struijk was his target. L’Equipe’s Loïc Tanzi reports that PSG initiated discussions to acquire the 24-year-old Leeds United defender but faced challenges in negotiations with the English club.

The demanding asking price prompted Paris to shift focus to Lucas Beraldo. However, the French journalist notes that the potential move for Struijk may progress in the upcoming months.
PSG reportedly paid São Paulo FC €20 million without any add-ons to secure the 20-year-old Brazilian player, who should be arriving soon to make the transfer official.
