Spanish Journalist Wants Real Madrid-PSG Champions League Round of 16 Matchup

Paris Saint-Germain will find out who they’ll face in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 on Monday’s draw. After advancing to the knockout stages by the slightest of margins, the capital club now looks to go on a deep run.

Who are the possible opponents that PSG can face? There is Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad, Atletico Madrid, Manchester City, or FC Barcelona.

Ahead of the draw, Spanish journalist Tomás Roncero stated on El Chiringuito that he wants Real Madrid to draw PSG in the round of 16. A potential matchup would focus even more on the Kylian Mbappé transfer saga.

The Frenchman can sign a pre-contract with any club once the January transfer window opens in a few days. Nonetheless, a potential draw would see the saga at the center of the matchup from January until March.

Nonetheless, CBS Sports’ Jonathan Johnson recently stated that he hopes that the Parisians draw another Spanish club: Atletico Madrid.

“In terms of the best matchup, I actually think that a team like Atletico Madrid, especially this new Atleti, that’s quite attack-minded,” Johnson said. “I think that could be a really interesting matchup.

“Obviously, Luis Enrique and Diego Simeone know each other well from their time coaching against each other, and I think it would be a really entertaining game. Don’t think it would be too difficult for PSG away from home as it would do maybe in some of the other potential matchups.”

In a few hours, we will see if either matchups are drawn or if PSG will face a different opponent.
