Real Madrid’s Sporting Strategy Casts Doubt on Need for Mbappé

Real Madrid wants Kylian Mbappé and will reportedly make a pre-contract proposal once the January transfer window opens on Monday.

The 25-year-old, whose contract expires in June 2024, will be the subject of many rumors linking him to the Spanish side. However, the La Liga club is learning from past mistakes.

According to reports, Los Blancos will have a deadline on their offer. Furthermore, information from France suggests that they’re considering adding the Frenchman as an accessory and not a necessity.

L’Equipe reports (h/t Paris Fans) that Real Madrid is adopting a much more cautious strategy than before. They argue that the sporting aspect and the desire to join their club should take precedence.

They also claim they may not necessarily need Mbappé from a sporting perspective. Real Madrid’s leaders highlight Endrick’s upcoming arrival next summer as another critical factor supporting the argument for seeing the recruitment of Mbappé as a bonus.

Using Endrick is an implicit way of putting pressure on the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner, making him understand that this is his last chance to sign with Real Madrid.
