According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain is in overdrive with pursuing Corinthians midfielder Gabriel Moscardo. The 18-year-old and the Brazilian club are in advance talks with the French giants over a potential transfer.
Furthermore, outlets suggest that the Ligue 1 side wants to finalize the agreement between the player’s camp and the Brazilian club in the next few days, with the transfer price being €25 million. Additionally, sporting advisor Luis Campos is reportedly in Brazil to watch Moscardo.
If the French giants can land the teenager, what type of player would they be getting? What’s his potential once he enters his prime years?
Does Gabriel Moscardo have the skill set to be the next Casemiro?
L’Equipe recently spoke to a scout to better understand the midfielder and his ceiling should PSG secure the signing. The scout told the French media outlet that if Moscardo develops and hits his potential, he can be the next Casemiro, who had an illustrious career at Real Madrid.
“I would find it premature for a player who has never been tested against big teams,” the scout said (h/t Le10Sport). “Afterwards, he has an interesting profile, which recalls that of Casemiro in his beginnings (at São Paulo FC). Moscardo has a future. However, he will have to progress in terms of intensity to get closer to the European level.”
