PSG Outcast’s Loan Stint in Limbo as Roma Seeks Termination

Paris Saint-Germain loanee Renato Sanches had an opportunity to get his career back on track to where it was while with Lille OSC. The midfielder went on loan to AS Roma this past summer. However, it’s been a disastrous spell.

Injuries and poor form have the Serie A side reportedly pondering Sanches’ future midway through the loan stint. According to Foot Mercato, Roma informed PSG that it intended to terminate Sanches’ loan.

Moreover, the Ligue 1 side is open to terminating the loan deal when the January transfer window opens. Nevertheless, it is crucial for Sanches’ agent, Jorge Mendes, to actively seek and secure a new club for his client before the French giants give the green light to terminate the loan.

Sanches recently grabbed headlines following his 18-minute appearance as a substitute against Bologna, entering the field at the 46th-minute mark. However, Jose Mourinho promptly withdrew him from the game, delivering a stern and immediate reaction.

“He’s a boy who’s afraid of getting hurt and who also works at very low intensities in training,” Mourinho said. “It’s painful to see a player like him come onto the pitch and leave a few minutes later.”
