Paris Saint-Germain legend Pauleta revealed where he stands on the Kylian Mbappé transfer saga. The 24-year-old will become a free agent once his contract with PSG expires in June 2024.
However, the Frenchman can sign a pre-contract with any club in a few days when the calendar turns to 2024. While conflicting reports suggest whether the outcome of the clash with Borussia Dortmund will affect the winger’s decision to stay in Paris, Pauleta hopes the forward remains.
The Portugal international recently spoke with Spanish media outlet AS and wants to see the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner reject Real Madrid again next year.
“When you have a player like Mbappé, it would be a shame if he left,” Pauleta told the Spanish media outlet (h/t Le10Sport). “He’s one of the best in the world. He’s young and has incredible qualities. As a PSG follower, I would like him to stay. It’s a phenomenon.”
The La Liga side reportedly has a deadline as they want Mbappé to accept their offer. Furthermore, that’s not the only firm stance Los Blancos have with Mbappé.
Real Madrid reportedly wants the forward to inform them about a decision before signing once January 4th comes around. It will be interesting to see whether this firm stance affects any decision Mbappé makes.
