Ousmane Dembélé and Xavi Simons Ahead of Real Madrid Duo In Impressive Stat

Paris Saint-Germain could have two of the best players, Ousmane Dembélé and Xavi Simons, who get the ball as close as possible to the opponent’s goal.

DATA’Foot compiled a list of players who get the most into the opponent’s 30 meters in their respective leagues, whether by running or passing, this season.

Where do Ousmane Dembélé and Xavi Simons rank?

The 26-year-old occupies the top spot (60) in getting the most into the opponent’s 30 meters via running. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, as the Frenchman can generate a lot of scoring chances.

However, his issue has been scoring goals. If he can improve on this aspect, he can be a more dangerous player with his runs. Nonetheless, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner isn’t the only PSG player on this list.

Right behind Dembélé is Simons, who’s spending the 2023-24 season on loan with RB Leipzig. The Netherlands international is in a two-way tie with Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde with 48 runs.

The rest of the top five fill out with Rodrygo at No. 4 (44) and Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz (43). Back to PSG, it will be interesting to see how much more dangerous their attack is with Dembélé and Simons.
