The Kylian Mbappé transfer saga will officially begin in a few days when the January transfer window opens. With Paris Saint-Germain punching their ticket to the UEFA Champions League round of 16, it’s hard to envision a decision occurring next month.
Nonetheless, PSG and Real Madrid will likely do their best to ensure that this saga ends in January and doesn’t drag on for the second half of the 2023-24 season.
L’Equipe reports that PSG still hopes to succeed in securing a new contract extension for Mbappé. The ball is in the 24-year-old’s court. Paris has evaluated two project scenarios – one involving Mbappé and the other excluding him.

As for the Spanish side, they reportedly have a deadline for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner. According to the information, Mbappé has until Jan. 15 to decide whether or not he wants to accept their offer.
Real Madrid wants to stand firm with their deadline, hoping to avoid a scenario where they’re left looking foolish, like in 2022.
