Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram was on Paris Saint-Germain’s radar this past summer. The capital club was in the process of adding more French talent and saying goodbye to pursuing superstar names.
Furthermore, along with being French, Thuram was a free agent after his contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach had expired. PSG was in the mix all summer, but the 2022 FIFA World Cup runner-up decided to continue his career in Italy rather than return to France.
Thuram signed a five-year contract with the Serie A side and will earn around €6.5 million net per season. The striker revealed to Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé why he decided not to join him in the French capital with his other teammates on the national team.
“I didn’t ask for a guarantee or anything,” Thuram told Mbappé on CANAL+. “It’s more a question of feeling; Inter saw me as a No. 9, [and] my choice was clear.”

Marcus Thuram : Non j’ai pas demandé de garantie ou quoi que ce soit. C’est plus une question de feeling l’inter me voyait comme un numéro 9, mon choix a été limpide »

PSG didn’t stand still with Thuram rejecting them and opted to go with another French forward, Randal Kolo Muani. The 25-year-old is having his ups and downs but is flashing his potential on what his form could look like once he finds that consistency.
