Luis Enrique Lauds Arnau Ténas for Stellar Ligue 1 Debut Against Le Havre

Arnau Ténas made his Ligue 1 debut for Paris Saint-Germain in an unusual way. The 22-year-old wasn’t scheduled to start for the capital club in their contest against Le Havre.

However, with Gianluigi Donnarumma’s red card less than 10 minutes into the game, the youngster had to jump into action. Despite coming off the bench and not preparing to be the starter, Ténas impressed in his outing.

Ténas made seven saves for PSG, keeping the clean sheet and denying the chances that Le Havre were generating. Furthermore, he did receive offensive help early with a goal from Kylian Mbappé, and eventually, Vitinha added the insurance goal.

PSG manager Luis Enrique spoke postgame and gave glowing words for how Ténas rose to the occasion and helped out his team when needed.

“[Ténas] is one of the best in terms of professionalism on a daily basis,” Enrique told Prime Video (h/t Culture PSG). “He tries to seize every opportunity that presents itself, and he did it very well this Sunday. He showed everyone that he is well prepared, ready to play for PSG.”

With Donnarumma suspended, Ténas will get the start next weekend against FC Nantes at the Parc des Princes.
