Hakim Ziyech Takes Shot at Chelsea, Confirms PSG Transfer Blunder

Earlier this year, Paris Saint-Germain wanted to add to their squad for the second half of the 2022-23 season. The French giants targeted Hakim Ziyech as the pursuit of the Moroccan went down to deadline day.

Ziyech had no future with Chelsea, so it was a deal that the Premier League side would do. However, there were a lot of issues on the English club’s end, which led to the loan transfer not occurring.

Chelsea reportedly sent the wrong documents three times, preventing the reigning Ligue 1 from filing the proper paperwork before the January transfer window closed.

The winger might grudge Chelsea for not allowing him to leave sooner. Eventually, the Blues let him exit this past summer to Galatasaray, but the 30-year-old appears to have much to say about the ordeal.

“Pff, Chelsea, we can talk about that for a long time,” Ziyech said (h/t Metro). “But the conclusion is that things did not turn out as we had hoped.

“It was a period full of coaching changes, nagging with the club management, a departure to Paris Saint-Germain that did not happen at the last minute, and it was disappointing in terms of football.”

Ziyech did have success this past UEFA Champions League matchday, scoring two goals against Manchester United. So, his move to the Turkish giants might be working out.
