Fabrizio Romano Reveals Arsenal Defender’s Decision to Snub PSG, Bayern Munich

Paris Saint-Germain implemented a new transfer policy as the capital club looks to secure top French talent. This summer, the Ligue 1 side recruited four new players from France, and PSG had their eyes on another.

Lucas Hernandez was one of the French defenders to come to Paris; however, the Parisians wanted William Saliba to eventually join him. Even though PSG was plotting to land the Arsenal defender, the Ligue 1 club faced a hurdle.

According to transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano, PSG and Bayern Munich showed interest in William Saliba before signing his contract extension in the summer. However, the player only wanted to stay at Arsenal.

The capital club will target top French talent, but not every player will be keen on returning to Paris. Still, it’s always worth a try for sporting advisor Luis Campos to bring these players back to France, knowing what playing in the capital means.

  1. Bayern would have definitely been a major draw for any player.
PSG are just a big fish in a little pond. Dominant in Ligue 1 but frequently beaten in the Champions League.
At least in the Premier League Saliba will know he is being challenged in every game. Arsenal is going places.
And let’s be honest Liverpool Vs Arsenal or Arsenal Vs Man City are a much more interesting challenge than PSG Vs Le Havre isn’t it?
