It’s only a matter of time, it seems until Paris Saint-Germain officially announces the arrival of São Paulo FC defender Lucas Beraldo. Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano reports that the French giants will pay €20 million with no add-ons.
So what would the Brazilian center-back bring to the capital club once he steps into the squad? Le Parisien spoke with Charles Hembert regarding the type of player PSG will be getting.
Hembert touched on the outstanding qualities that have made Beraldo successful in São Paulo.
“What sets him apart is his technical quality, far above the rest,” Hembert told the French media outlet. “[Beraldo] is a defender who has the technical quality of a midfielder. He has an exceptional ability to find passes between the lines; he has very good ball handling.”
“He will always want to participate in the game [and] will never hide. He is very tactically intelligent. If you want to come out from behind, play on the ground, [and] combine as PSG does, this is the perfect piece to do that.”

The Ligue 1 side now has a defender for the future once Marquinhos’ contract expires in 2028. However, PSG could be open to offers for the Brazilian in the near future. Furthermore, Beraldo might not be the only center-back the Parisians pursue.
PSG is reportedly interested in signing Leny Yoro from Lille OSC. If the deal goes through, it would give PSG a promising center-back pairing alongside Marquinhos.
