Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly add two young Brazilian talents to their squad once the January transfer window opens on Monday. Lucas Beraldo and Gabriel Moscardo are the latest players who arrive to bolster the defense and midfield.
The French media is speaking with several pundits and journalists who have seen both players in Brazil. L’Equipe recently talked to Grafite, an analyst for TV Globo. The former player gave insight into what he sees in Beraldo and Moscardo.
“Of course, Moscardo will have to adapt,” Grafite said (h/t Paris Fans). “But his energy, dynamism, and ability to move forward can very well help PSG. He reminds me of Verratti at the beginning of his career. He, too, was very young [19 years old] when he arrived, right?
“As for Beraldo, he reminds me of Ricardo. He has class. He comes out with the ball at his feet. He is good physically… He is in his second season and is already ready to establish himself at PSG.”

Afterward, the outlet also spoke with former PSG defender Alex Dias, who gave insight into the players.
“They are two perfect recruits,” Dias said (h/t Paris Fans). “I think they will establish themselves in Paris. They are young, ambitious, and talented. Beraldo is skillful with the ball at his feet, good in the air, and advances on the field, which is essential. That’s why he will make an immediate impact. You can rest easy with Marquinhos and him at center-back; the defense will be well-guarded!
“It might be more challenging for Mocardo. He will need some time to adapt because the intensity is not the same in Ligue 1, and there, it’s tougher as well.”
What’s positive for PSG is that they’re not asking these young players to be starters right away. The capital club can bring them along slowly and have them adapt to the European game in a way that doesn’t overwhelm them.
It’s a bet for the future, but these players could be helping the French giants this 2023-24 season with the number of games coming up this second half.
