Real Madrid is likely counting the days until they can officially engage with the Kylian Mbappé camp over a pre-contract. However, the Spanish side is putting their foot down with their interest.
According to reports, the La Liga side has set a deadline for how long the 24-year-old has to accept their offer. Nonetheless, one former Real Madrid youth product would want to see them take a different approach.
Former Real Madrid youth player Denis Chéryshev shared his thoughts on the saga while speaking to Diario AS (h/t Bernabeu Digital). The Russian stated that if Los Blancos want the Frenchman to be their No. 9, it’s best not to go through with any deal.
“It is difficult to say no to Mbappé, but if he is going to take the place of Joselu, with whom I coincided for two years at Castilla, it is better not to,” Chéryshev said.
Real Madrid isn’t alone in their pursuit, as Saudi Arabia is pondering a potential move for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.
However, with the Ligue 1 side in the UEFA Champions League knockout stage, it’s hard to envision him making a decision. Nonetheless, it will be a wild January, with rumors flying.
