Paris Saint-Germain could be adding a midfielder during the January transfer window. However, the capital club could be eyeing an experienced player rather than another young player needing time to develop.
L’Equipe du Soir pundit Dominic Sévérac revealed two players that the Ligue 1 side is monitoring to possibly pursue. The first would be a French talent who has been linked to PSG in recent weeks: Youssouf Fofana.
Is ex-Liverpool midfielder Fabinho ready to return to Europe?
The other name in the mix for PSG is former FC Liverpool midfielder Fabinho, who left the Premier League club this past summer to join Al-Ittihad. Fabinho was part of the surge in players who decided to leave European football for Saudi Arabia.
Nonetheless, perhaps the Brazilian might have second thoughts about heading to Saudi Arabia if rumors surface over a return to Ligue 1, as the 30-year-old spent time with AS Monaco before leaving for the English club.
“Youssouf Fofana, in Monaco, who has said on multiple occasions that he would like to join PSG, and Fabinho, a player from the [Jorge] Mendes team who left for Saudi Arabia after Liverpool and who would not be against an experience at Paris Saint-Germain,” Sévérac said (h/t Canal Supporters).
