Corinthians Chiefs Break Silence Over Looming Sale of Gabriel Moscardo to PSG

Pars Saint-Germain’s double Brazilian swoop ahead of the January transfer window opening. According to reports, the Ligue 1 side has reportedly signed defender Lucas Beraldo.

As a result, the next domino to fall in this chase is Corinthians midfielder Gabriel Moscardo. With talks reportedly ongoing, the incoming board for the Brazilian club broke their silence over the transfer saga.

President Augusto Melo admitted to Globo the sale of Moscardo, with the player reportedly arriving this winter rather than waiting until summer.

“Unfortunately, the cycle has come (to an end); his head is also already far away,” Melo said. “We gave him the freedom to choose; may he be happy. He’s heading for Paris.”

Furthermore, Rubens Gomes, Corinthians football director, confirms Moscardo’s sale to the Ligue 1 side.

“Neither Augusto (president) nor I were in favor of the sale,” Gomes said. “But it’s ready for us. I spoke to him yesterday, and he told me that [his] cycle at Corinthians was already over.”

The final piece that likely needs to be implemented is the transfer fee. According to transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano, the French giants are set to finalize the agreement to sign Moscardo. Talks are at the final stages between clubs for a fee of €22 million plus €1 million in bonuses.

Nonetheless, it seems that Campos will be landing two talents from Brazil that could pay dividends now and into the future.
