Thomas Tuchel’s Humorous Twist on Bayern Munich’s Mbappé Pursuit

Bayern Munich’s manager, Thomas Tuchel, isn’t hiding the desire to possibly reunite with his former player, Kylian Mbappé. The 24-year-old will become a free agent after this 2023-24 season, so rumors are flying around.

As a result, Tuchel was asked whether he wanted the Frenchman to head to the German giants and welcomed the idea, even if, financially, it might not be feasible for Bayern Munich.

“Do I want to sign Kylian Mbappé? Yes, yes, he is going to play for us (Bayern Munich), that’s clear (laughs),” Tuchel told CANAL+

Furthermore, the German tactician, who spent three years as Paris Saint-Germain’s manager, noted Mbappé’s qualities that make him a particular player. These traits would have Tuchel picking up the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner and bringing him to Bayern Munich.

“Kylian is Kylian; he’s extraordinary,” Tuchel added. “He is very intelligent (..) We have a good relationship. If he wants to come (to Bayern Munich), I’ll come pick him up by bike. But I think that’s not going to be reality.”

Bayern Munich’s manager has a realistic approach toward signing Mbappé because many teams are competing for him. For example, Real Madrid has been consistently linked to the French forward. Mbappé has yet to decide on his future, further fueling speculation from the football media.

Real Madrid’s allure and persistent interest in Mbappé present a formidable obstacle for any club seeking to secure the services of the PSG winger.
